Retail Express announces expansion and recruitment drive to support growth

    20th March 2022 | 2 min read

Retail Express has moved to a new larger HQ in the thriving tech hub of Leeds, UK, to help the business deliver its next chapter of growth. The new office announcement comes at the same time as it launches a major upgrade to its intelligent merchandising software, RE 2.0, following a two-year investment cycle in product development to introduce significant AI enhancements to its product portfolio.

With a customer base that includes tier 1 retailers across Europe, North America and Asia Pacific, this expansion is key to driving continued success. Retail Express’ most recent client has 1300 stores and 1100 suppliers, all using Retail Express’ intelligent merchandising SaaS software. The new larger space will facilitate flexible working options, enabling an expanding workforce to offer 24/7 support to its customers regardless of location around the world.

Retail Express’ CEO, Barry Grange, explains: “Our expansion will enable more retailers to have access to our SaaS technology, helping them to transform their merchandising and supplier processes while removing the reliance on legacy IT infrastructure with its time-consuming and labour-intensive manual processes.”

As a key part of its expansion, Retail Express has made several new appointments to help ensure high levels of productivity and consistency of service including:

General Manager for UK and Ireland & Head of Consulting – Edward Betts: Ed brings significant leadership skills, and deep knowledge of grocery retailing and supplier processes from his previous experience gained within Asda and senior positions within drinks companies including Majestic Wines

New Chief Financial Officer – Philip Grange: Phil, a director of the holding company, has been a long-time employee since 2014 and his new role includes responsibility for finance and accounting, legal, business planning and treasury as well as supporting the CEO

Marketing & Operations Manager – Mark Grange: Mark oversees strategic and product marketing, bringing detailed knowledge of the company’s products having spent more than a decade as an engineer in the Retail Express Development Group

Further appointments include a new HR and Office Manager, Marisha Babaloa, and also a new Marketing Executive, Sarah Ryder, who joins from an international security SaaS company.
