Smart Offers cover all those offers that cannot be defined around a single item or product family and because the number of posible combinations is very large the offer definition process is managed through a wizard which simply steps the user through the process, picking offer attributes from drop down lists and associating values where appropriate.
Smart offers has the same coverage and applicability to the customer and markets as described in Product offers. Examples of offers that would be addressed through this mechanism would be Meal Deals where you pick One Sandwich from a specific list of sandwich items, you pick one Crisp brand and one soft drink from a list and when purchased together, they are priced as a meal deal at xx.xx.
Other more broader offers provide Buy One from this group of products/Category /Department and receive x% of a product selected from this group of products/Category/ Department; or buy any three items from this group of products Get the Cheapest Free etc; or similar constructions.
Smart Offers also allows discounts over multiple purchases, like the coffee card, after the 6th Purchase the 7th coffee is FREE; or multi-tier pricing structures where the more you Buy the Cheaper it gets, Spend $100.00 Get 10% discount, Spend $200.00 Get 20% Discount, Spend $300.00 Get 30% Discount etc.,
Smart Offers brings together the range of attributes to support any combination of attributes the user might want to combine to define and allows complicated offers to be organised through a smart wizard style mechanism for simplicity and control.
